Fashions by Belladonna

While I'm waiting for the upcoming shoot with the indie clothing brand Belladonna, I've been looking back through older photos and trying to decide which dress I want next from them. I don't wear lolita fashion as much anymore, and I'd honestly rather go for elegance than cuteness lately, anyway. Belladonna's clothing bridges that gap, creating interesting, vibrant prints that pop while still giving a touch of elegance and class that allows their clothing to be worn for everyday looks, as well. So when I got the invitation to work with them, I headed down to Baltimore, MD for the weekend.

The designers are a pair of young women named Rachel and Michelle; between the two of them, they boast many dress and skirt designs, multiple prints, many fashion shows, and a lot of hilarity. My girlfriend Kate was there for MUA and some modelling of her own, and between the four of us and the photographer, we got along famously.
If this counts as 'famously'.
We shot three different dresses. The first was one that I actually ended up buying from her; I love this print so much, and the cut of the dress is extremely flattering. It's called Amelia's Locket and currently comes in Deep Sea (blue & seafoam green, shown worn) and Sea Foam (light seafoam green & cream), though there will be another colour revealed at Frill this year.

These photos were taken on the piers in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore! It was during the pirate festival, so the entire shoot here felt like it fit in for a change!
For the next pieces of the photoshoot we headed north, out onto a former horse farm. Thanks to the weather, we were able to shoot the entirety outdoors, though we also took some studio shots! The first piece was a gorgeous classic jumperskirt with a light blue coverup.

The next piece hasn't been released quite yet, but it's available for pre-order on Belladonna's webstore. It's called Twilight Twinkle Jelly and - who doesn't want jellyfish? In space?

I mean, it's jellyfish. In space.

Definitely a dress to pick up sooner than later. I've got a couple more dresses I'm waiting for from them, and an exciting collaboration I'll unveil later this year! In the meanwhile, definitely check out their selection online, and if you're at Otakon this year, stop by the fashion show to see some of their new dresses on the runway!

Also got a shot for Gothic Lolita Wigs & Dolluxe in. I'm wearing the Classic (Wavy) Auburn Rust and Harajuku Honey & Underlash B.
